Child abuse includes physical, sexual, psychological, and verbal abuse. It also includes neglect. Signs of child abuse include bruises and cuts, developmental delays, worsening of behavior or academic ability, a strained relationship with the family, unusual fear or depression, self-injury, and many more symptoms. If you suspect a child is being abused, you should get help right away, whether from the police or a child protective service. Counseling is one of many treatments recommended for abused kids.
