How to Help Your Child Develop Healthy Eating Habits
Making family meals healthy and a sizzling success isn't always easy. Here are some simple tips from Tina Amato, RD:
- Let your children help prepare the meal. Kids are more likely to enjoy foods they helped make.
- Have fun with fruits and vegetables. Grate some potato pancakes for a potassium-filled breakfast. Or create a vegetable buggy -- a bread roll with sliced cucumbers and carrots for ears, nose and mouth.
- Get creative with desserts. Make a healthy ambrosia with cut-up fruit, a few marshmallows, and yogurt instead of whipping cream.
