BP running consistantly at least 150/100, hot flashes (perimenapause), SOB, nervous, heart palpitations interfering with sleep, Hyper or exhausted, no in-between. Was placed on two different anti-depressants and HCTZ, had allergic reactions to all. Smart physician suggested clonidine and I now have BP of 120/80 or lower, no more palpatations, hot flashes greatly decreased, and I'am able to relax. ...
DO NOT GIVE YOUR CHILD THIS DRUG. My mother took me off this med when I was prescribed for ADD because i was experiencing muscle twitches in my jaw. I almost experience mental retardation if it weren't for her taking me off of it.

My six year old son has been taking Clonidine .1 MG for over a year now for his ADHD. It helps him get to sleep. Before he started this medication he would literally be awake until 4 in the morning. He now takes it a 7 PM and is sound asleep by 9 PM. It has helped him in other ways as well. More sleep = less grumpy boy.

Falling asleep and breathlessness one and half hours after taking med, constant dry mouth,Raynaud's worsened, vivid nightmares, muscle pain and weakness, oedema of legs and body, apparent congestive heart failure, yet my heart is perfectly healthy, nerves shot--I cry at nothing,--I can't wait to get off this drug, but have been allergic to many others.I hate the way this makes me feel.My health and quality of life have certainly diminished because of this.It would be good to feel "normal" again. And even one drink at a wedding forbidden--someone somewhere please think of reactions patients have when on your pharmaceutical money making drugs and design some better, pleasanter ones that don't inflict misery on us the patients.Read More Read Less

My 4 yr old autstic son takes this to help him sleep. It works within an hour and he now sleeps at least 9-10 hrs on daily basis. He was sleeping only 6 hours a night prior to this med. It also helped him to lose a few pounds when he first started taking it. It doesn't seem to do anything for it now though.

This drug worked for 15 years before I needed to add a water pill (Bumex). It still will lower the systolic about 50 degrees and the diastolic about 30. After 27 years I am needing an additional med. But all in all...this drug has no side effects and WORKS.

My 7yr old autistic son says he is seeing spots, he has been taking Clonidine HCL for about 2.5 months. It took us a long time to get him to the dose he is perscribed. He is at 0.1 at bedtime and still a helf of that in the morning. Can this be a side effect from this drug. Linda LS

Bloating so I feel like a blimp, legs swollen, mouth dryness excessive so as to loss of voice.Choking badly at times. Am awaiting change to another drug, but have already reacted to so many--awaiting results of numerous tests to see if I am totally chemically intolerant.
