I am 28 and have tried many types of BC. Ortho tri (lost weight but made me break out like crazy) Nova777 (made me feel wierd and moody) Ortho Evra Patch (loved it but after being on it awhile I started to have skin problems and was very moody) and now the quasense. In the begining I loved it. Very little cramping, my skin cleared up somewhat from how it had been on the patch and my mood improved....

I have never had such a horrible experience with birth control or a doctor's office.I just wanted to lower my risk of cancer and have a normal period with this drug. I am underweight and my periods were irregular. The first week was bad enough with black spotting that turned into a period one week after I had supposedly finished my period. Three weeks of bleeding is ridiculous. Then cramping, bloa...

I've been taking Quasense for at least several years now. It's been so long, lost track on just how long. I take it continuously, no period week, for the most part. From what I recall when I started taking it, there was a period of adjustment, as per usual for any new medication introduced to a person's system. All of which eventually worked itself out. But I can't really say that I notice any negative side effects at all at this point. The only spotting I experience is rare, light and likely due to avoiding my period. I'm prescribed warfarin (blood thinner) for another health condition, so I don't worry too much about clot risk (also don't smoke or drink, drink mostly water). I prefer to avoid my period for as long as possible due to the usual reasons, along with the blood thinner effects. But so far, I haven't a negative thing to really say about Quasense. I take it at night before bed, so any effects on my digestive system aren't evident at all (unlike Yasmin, which killed my stomach and gave me heart palpitations in less than a week!). I'm mid-30's, no kids, so Quasense seems to be doing the job thus far!Read More Read Less

I've been on Quasense for about 2 years with no problems at all. While other women I know complaing about being quesy from their pills, weight gain or spotting, I don't have any issues. Though, I have started to get more headaches and more upset stomach episodes over the time I've been on Quenense and am starting to think it may be the cause of my issues since it is the consistent factor. But overall, I enjoy it.

Quasense has been terrible for me. I spotted for two months straight and ended up getting my period two weeks early. It's also given me terrible mood swings. I'm going to try and switch to Seasonique tomorrow. I don't care if I have to pay extra for it. I will never use an off brand of birth control again, especially Quasense.

I am underweight and my periods were irregular. The first week was bad enough with black spotting that turned into a period one week after I had supposedly finished my period. Three weeks of bleeding is ridiculous. Then cramping, bloating and headaches followed. Then I started crying for no reason and throwing up. Nausea on this was just unreal and I have never had a mood swing where I go from screaming at someone to crying within a sentence. I don't have a sex drive and was so exhausted on this it felt like I had the flu. I ached all over and just wanted to die. I couldn't finish two weeks on this and didn't want to kill anyone or myself so I just stopped taking it. I never got to talk to my doctor because the nurses never let me. Do not go see doctors in Wichita Falls, Texas as they hate women here. I'll never see a doctor again unless it's to have an abortion! I have never been treated so poorly by doctors until I moved to Texas. I'm leaving asap! DO NOT COME TO TEXAS LADIES THEY WILL TREAT YOU LIKE GARBAGE!!Read More Read Less

Let me preface this by saying I have only been on Quasense for about a month. This is the first form of bc I've used. Before Quasense my periods were horrible. The first day was spent throwing up until there was nothing in me but bile, with cramps that were so terrible I could not move. I had headaches for the week leading up to my period, and hot flashes for the week that followed my period. I experienced light spotting on quasense, but that's been my only negative side-affect. I haven't had any headaches, and I haven't had any weight gain. Read More Read Less

I was on ortho tri-cyclen for a year until my doctor decided to switch my birth control because I was having extremely irregular periods. (I was prescribed Jolessa, but my pharmacy gave me Quasense instead because that was what my insurance covered and my doctor said that it wouldn't make a difference.) So far I am absolutely hating this stuff. I'm four months in, and I have nothing but complaints. I have major spotting at least two weeks out of every month, and there's still usually very light spotting for the rest of the time. My weight has been all over the place too (within the last three months I've gained and lost ten pounds without changing my eating habits). I have brief bouts of pretty bad depression, however other than that my mood swings were pretty much under control until I got my actual period. When that came, though, all hell broke loose. I literally lived off of midol. The bloating and cramping were so overwhelming I couldn't get out of bed some days except to change my tampon, which I literally had to do twice every hour because the bleeding was out of control. I was actually concerned for a long time at how much blood I was losing! I had constant headaches throughout my period too, and absolutely nothing made them go away. My appetite was all over the place as well. Some days I would eat everything in sight, while others just the thought of eating was enough to make me feel full. In the end, though, I'm not pregnant, so there is something to be said for that. However, Quasense did NOT regulate my periods like it was supposed to, and I may only get one real period every three months, but I'm bleeding in some way for the rest of the month anyway. What's the point of having birth control if you can't ever have sex?! After this pack is finished, I'm definitely done with this stuff.Read More Read Less

Quasense = terrible. I have been on Seasonale for 3+ years (also 4 periods/yr), and when I went to fill my prescription this time around, the pharmacy gave me Quasense because it was covered by my insurance and they had discontinued Seasonale in the U.S. I gave it a shot because I figured it couldn't be much different, but boy was I wrong. I experience major mood swings (my husband was scared of me at times), I felt down and seemed to cry a lot, I experienced weight gain, I had heavy spotting with an almost black discharge, and my lifelong perfect skin is now covered with acne. I was on it for a month until I could get more Seasonale from Canada, and now 2 weeks after switching back my acne still hasn't gone away and is progressively getting worse. I would have much rather been on a pill with a monthly period than to experience the many terrible side effects of this birth control which I'm having a hard time getting rid of even after switching contraceptives. I will never recommend this pill to anyone. The ONLY good thing about it is that it proved to be effective in preventing pregnancy.Read More Read Less

I had switched from ortho tri-cyclen because I didn't want to get a period every month. My doctor suggested Quasense and I absolutely love it. The only downside is I gained a few pounds, but I was never skinny to begin with so I don't mind. As for effectiveness of the product, it definitely works as a birth control & my periods are lighter and shorter when I get it. It's easy to take if it's your first time taking "The Pill" I'd suggest this product to anyone looking into a pill method.

I have been on this drug for 11 months. This is the first birth control I have ever taken. I started taking it due to extremely irregular cycles. I did have strange cravings the first month of taking the drug. I have had break through bleeding a few times, nothing terrible. I gained weight in my boobs (which I'm completely ok with). Other than that, I have not noticed anything different about my mood or sleep habits. I would recommend this birth control.

Doesn't cause weight gain and eases any migraines that I have during my period. Periods get easier every cycle that occurs.

Okay so i have been taking quasense for almsot a year and a half, and have had lots of problems. Pros: I never spot, barely have cramps, barely bleed on my actual period, and have not gotten pregnant. Cons:EXTREMELY terrible mood swings (like i have never acted this way in my entire life), gained 10 pounds, i have absolutely ZERO sex drive or the medical term "libido" at the age of 19 (we all know thats unheard of), anxiety problems, lots of depression. I loved this pill untill i realized that i had changed in so many different ways that i never thought would happen. I would reccommend for people that dont want to have periods once a month or would like to control the cramping and flow.Read More Read Less

I just started my 7th week of taking this. I started because the first day of my periods were absolutely debilitating; I would get uncomfortably bloated, go through super tampons like it was nothing, and experienced severe enough nausea that I would sometimes puke- even just the smell of food could set me off. Although I've just started Quasense, I'm a LOT less stressed out knowing that I won't have to go through that unexpectedly again. I did gain weight after taking it but I was a bit light anyhow and it might be attributed to a better appetite due to less stress. I only missed taking it once when I fell asleep, as I take it anywhere from 9-10:30 at night, since I suspected I'd get sick from it. The first night I took it I got real bad shakes but I haven't had any issues since, until 2 or 3 days ago when I started spotting. It's pretty light but has been getting worse rather than better. I plan on waiting it out a couple months since I was all cry-sensitive and mood-swingy before taking this and if anything it has improved my mood. I can't say yet whether it's negatively effected my sex drive. The only real 'symptom' I experience is slight breast tenderness/ enlargement which I rather enjoy since that was the only good thing about my period.Read More Read Less

I am 22 years old and this was my first time using birth control. I had read reviews of Quasense and was trying to keep an open mind about the side effects. My first month was fine, but by the second month things went downhill quickly. The first noticeable change was my loss of sex drive. This improved after a couple weeks, but then I started to get awful mood swings and felt somewhat depressed. By the end of my second month I was in counseling for depression and was crying nearly every day. Throughout the first two months I didn't spot at all, but the last month I had bleeding every day (for three weeks straight). I wanted to try to push through the first three moths to see if my hormones would even out, but I had no luck. Birth control is very subjective depending on your body, but this did not work for me at all. Loss of sex drive, depression, weight gain, and spotting made this pill a no go for me. I hope you all have better luck! Happy hunting ladies!Read More Read Less

I wanted to go on this for 4 periods a year. I'm on my last pill on the first month and plan to switch to my old gianvi. This month I've felt down sleeping more eating more. I experienced acne for the first couple weeks and gained 4 lbs. I feel that it looks like more. I loved not having a period but I've read about spotting and don't want to deal with that on top of the other side effects. Everyone reacts differently, but I gave it a shot.

My blood clots and bleeding have not stopped. Its been giving me painful migraines daily. I do not get nausea or cramps but I am not satisfied with this. When I started taking this medication I went from spotting to heavy bleeding that cushed out. Ive felt horrible for the last 3 weeks.

I have been on these pills for about nine months and overall it has been a lifesaver for me. I'd been having trouble with cramps, because no matter what I took, they wouldn't go away. So my doctor prescribed this and it has done wonders. My regular periods are lighter and my cramps are virtually gone. My only complaint would be the spotting. Now I know spotting with pills is normal, but I tend to spot for almost half the 91 day cycle and it gets annoying. The upside is that I don't get cramps even then, and there have been no other side effects. No mood swings, weight gain, etc., and my acne has cleared up. So really I can't complain too much about my experiences with this pill.Read More Read Less

I was given this drug by my pharmacy instead of the Jolessa that I was supposed to get. With in 2 days my skin began to break out and not just on my face, little bumps started to appear on my arms. Not a happy camper. Jolessa was awesome no spotting, no acne, no problems!

I've have been taking this pill for a year too long. I did not experience any breakthrough bleeding but, I did experience other negative effects. The mood swings I experienced while on this pill were ridiculous! I would go from 0 to 10 in seconds. I also experienced depression and alot of anxiety that became very difficult to manage. I also gained weight. At times, it almost felt like my emotions were out of control. For months, I have not been able to identify what has been causing all of these problems but, after reading the reviews online, it appears to be this pill. I will be switching to something else this week so that I can return back to my regular bubbly self. Read More Read Less

I read all the reviews for this pill and was scared to death to take it, but after the first three months I am loving this pill. Yes, i had dome serious spottin, but that has stopped. I had major cramping... like doubled over cant move cramps, but they stopped. Some moodiness and nausea in the beginning. If you're dealing with this, stick with it! After my first pack my period was maybe three days and I am experiencing no side effects. If it wasnt for the crappy first two or so months this pill would get five stars all around.Read More Read Less
