I am 28 and have tried many types of BC. Ortho tri (lost weight but made me break out like crazy) Nova777 (made me feel wierd and moody) Ortho Evra Patch (loved it but after being on it awhile I started to have skin problems and was very moody) and now the quasense. In the begining I loved it. Very little cramping, my skin cleared up somewhat from how it had been on the patch and my mood improved....

I have never had such a horrible experience with birth control or a doctor's office.I just wanted to lower my risk of cancer and have a normal period with this drug. I am underweight and my periods were irregular. The first week was bad enough with black spotting that turned into a period one week after I had supposedly finished my period. Three weeks of bleeding is ridiculous. Then cramping, bloa...

Because of all the bad reviews out there I thought I should say that THIS BIRTH CONTROL HAS BEEN PERFECT FOR ME. I was previously on tri-sprintec, however, it gave me horrible mood swings so I switched. I have NOT had any weight gain, mood swings, or decreased sex drive while on this pill. My acne did get slightly worse the first two weeks, but now it has cleared up if not improved! A lot of people have complained about spotting. I have almost fininished my first pack (I am on the third month) and I NEVER experienced any spotting. If you are religious about taking the pill at the same time every day I think the chances of spotting decrease. Overall, I LOVE THIS PILL and I would recommend it to anyone - not having your period every month is amazing! Read More Read Less

I have been taking the medication for 8 1/2 weeks. I have been spotting since week 5. Sometimes the spotting is light, other days it is heavy to the point panty liners aren't enough. I am trying to waiting and see how the experience goes as I complete 3 months and go into the the new pack. But so far I AM NOT HAPPY!!1

This bc has worked well with preventing pregnancy, but sometimes the side effects are as bad as being pregnant...bloating,cramping,nausea,headaches ad breast tenderness this usually happens when I start the 3rd pack and lasts the whole month before I get a period...but the there is a great pro I only have a 3 day period every 3 months...

i took this due to having really heavy bleeding and to control it, i have been on this for 3 years and just recently i had to switch to a monthly one since i experienced breakthrough bleeding for a whole month on my 3rd year. the 1st year was great light periods and only lasted for a short amount of time, the 2nd year it lasted a whole 7 days and usually came late. i didnt experience any cramps while taking quasense but i do believe i gained a lot of weight while on it..before i was on it i weighted around 130 now after 3 years i am around 140. this pill is great for the reason being you only get your period 4 months out of year!Read More Read Less

I was on this medication for about 6 months and yes, it did to its job in preventing pregnancy but otherwise it was just not worth it to me. I was constantly in a bad mood, and before I was on it I was a happy, bubbly and friendly person but this medication gave me horrible mood swings. I was almost always feeling irritable and angry and I was taking it out on my poor husband. He had even told me that this was not the woman he had fallen in love with. I was also feeling down, and crying almost all the time over nothing. Now that I have been off of it for 2 weeks now, I feel better and I am back to my normal self. I feel happy and full of energy again. Birth control effects women different ways, so what might have worked for other women, it could effect you in a different way. The only advice I can give is if you are going on this pill and you start to feel angry, depressed and irritable don't blame yourself because it might be the birth control! It also made me bleed in between periods, and made me gain weight drastically! I was working out (insanity workout, jogging and swimming) and eating healthy and I was still gaining weight. With this medication I gained 25 pounds. With the new birth control I've already lost 5 pounds. Never again will I go on this birth control.Read More Read Less

I personally have not a single complaint from this drug. I only have my period once every 3 months, it is light, only last about 3 days, and best of all I don't experience half as bad of cramps as I did on my old medication. I am a pharmacy tech and I have several girls that I have convinced to try Quasense and they all love it!

Horrible! I just started my 3rd month of pills on Sunday but am stopping and going to the gynocologist tomorrow. I've had heavy bleeding and horrible cramps for 3 weeks straight! I also noticed severe clotting yesterday and today. I've tried many types of birth control but this is the absolute worst! I do not recommend Quasense at all

I switched from LoSeasonique because insurance would no longer pay for it. Quasense being a generic for Seasonale is indeed cheap. I am in the 6th week of the birth control, exactly half way through the 3 month pack. I feel like I'm having morning sickness--nausea, stomach pains, severe acid reflux, not being able to eat until middle of the afternoon. I've experienced a great deal of weight loss. I'm fatigued all the time and have had this blah feeling for over a week. This is not the same experience as LoSeasonique. It's not a good experience. If you have another option, go with that.Read More Read Less

Quasense is AWFUL!!!!! I had severe migraines (up to 4 a week to the point where I couldn't get out of bed), spotting for weeks that never decreased, my moods were outrageous(I'd cry about anything and everything, which is not like me at all) and my boobs were constantly sore.

Clotting and heavy bleeding. Not a good experience. Lots of breakthrough bleeding during 2nd and 3rd pack. I thought I may have had a miscarrage or something on my last period. Extreme clots and gushing during long periods that never seem to end. I have been on this for a year and will be switching after my last scary clotting experience. I see others have posted about weight gain and this is also my experience with this pill. Not worth the side effects.

Worst acne of my life! I'm in the end of week 5, and I seriously have never felt this ferocious, mean, and generally just plain ugly. Trust me ladies, it's not worth it to sacrifice your stability for the promise of few periods. Never trying this style of birth control again.

Quasense works as birth control because you can just forget about having a sex life at all. Instead of 4 periods a year you have several unpredictable periods per year each lasting several weeks each. I would like to thank my insurance company for forcing me to switch to this generic version of seasonale so that that they can save money and I can continue to pay my insurance premiums, the copay for this sorry excuse of a drug and extra feminine hygiene products. I will be changing back to the monthly ones ASAP.Read More Read Less

I experienced break thru bleeding but didn't stop taking it. Once I was on it for about three months, no more break thru. Interesting enough, when my three months were up a few times, I actually skipped periods twice. My doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about. So, pretty much, in the last year that I've been on it, two periods. I'll take it! No other side effects.

I have used this drug for many years, switching from seasonique due to the cost. I love it but, I experience breakthru bleeding from time to time. I found that when it starts, I just stop takin the pills and let the cycle complete and once it is over, usually like 4days later i jus start back takin the pills. If u keep takin them while bleeding even if it is just a little, it will carry on longer. But over all I like the pills

The first 3 months I took seasonale and everything was great. The second 3 months I switched to Quasense due to cost and it has been a nightmare. I have been spotting for 3 weeks now, the mood swings are unbearable and nothing is going right with my body. I have gained weight, very low sex drive and no interest in anything. I do not recommend this drug to anyone.

I switched to Quasense from Seasonique because I could not afford the cost of the Seasonique. While on the Seasonique I did not experience any major side effects that I noticed during that three month cycle. When I switched to the Quasense, that is when all my problems began. I felt constantly depressed and could definitely feel the mood swings. I was so depressed that I cried about everything, a song, someone raising their voice to me, a traffic light wouldn't change, etc. It was for ridiculous reasons. I even contemplated suicide. Any conflict that occurred where I couldn't calm myself down, instantly threw me into a panic attack. Though I did not experience weight gain, I did loose my appetite for breakfast due to the nausea experienced after taking the pill in the morning. Not only do I take the pill for birth control, but for my endo and cysts. This is an excessively high dose of hormones that did not work great for me. I rather feel the heightened sex drive I have experienced from other pills than the depression from this one. This pill is definitely not for everyone. I don't recommend it. Read More Read Less

I am 18 years old. This was the first birth control I ever tried. Now, I understand that an extended-cycle birth control means more breakthrough bleeding in between periods, but I bled for 2/3 of the pack! The first few weeks were fine, with no side effects. and then I experienced spotting which slowly increased to a normal flow. The same process happened with each new pack I started. While my PMS and acne drastically improved, I also got bad menstrual cramps and headaches--something I had never experienced before. After 6 months I called it quits. Side note--my roommate takes Jolessa, which is pretty much the same as Quasense, and she loves it. I guess everyone's reaction to the hormones is different.Read More Read Less
