I have been battling with my Ulcerative Colitis for 4 years now. I started with 6 pills of Asacol. I could not stand taking that many pills in one day. Then I went to Canasa suppositories that was not enough. It was not reaching high enough in my colon to treat the Colitis. Now I have been on Lialda, 4 pills a day, for 1 year. Went off of it and just did the Canasa for 2 years and then went...
This is my first day on this medication. My doctor gave me some samples to try and when I opened the first blister, I smelled a foul odor. I was just wondering if this was normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been on this medicne for a few months now and it seems to be working pretty good. It is a welcome change from taking 12 asacol a day. I do have some fatigue with this medicine, but otherwise feel fine.

I have been doing well except for chronic fatique, although that subsided a little after reducing the dose. Now after almost a year I am experiencing severe joint pain which is listed as a possible side effect. Looking into it.

I used to take Asacol and it never worked, I Dr. wanted to put me on predisone...I said no way and found a new Dr...who put me on Lialda. I was in remission 2 weeks later. I have only had a few flair ups but it's because I was eating and drinking things I shouldn't have. I love this medication and the Dr. who told me that the amount of Asacol I was on was never going to be affective for me.

The only thing I am uncertain about, is that soon after starting this med, I felt great, however have been battling fatigue daily. Also does not help with my chronic lower back pain from my UC like other meds did.

I now have mild UC (I used to be moderate at least I know and feel so), Lialda has been effective specially if I get a flare up which is rare now. I just take extra doses up to 4 for about 2 to 3 days and then I go back to 1 or 2, no side effects. I have been taking this med for quite some times and while it has helped. Perhaps some might not have been effective because they are time released time released I saw some come out whole, thats why maybe they were not as effective. Overall easy to use mostly effective and overall satisfied with product can't wait for generic or a cure I know its here we just have to find itRead More Read Less

I was put on this 2 months after having a baby. I used to take asacol and loved it. My doctor suggested I take this and my symptoms have gotton worse.I prefer the asacol. Even though it was more pills it was more effective.

I switched to Lialda during a sever flare-up & they have been great! I started taking 4 per day due to the severity of my condition, which was nothing compaired to the 12 Acacol I was taking before, I am now down to 2 a day and have not had any problems since.
