Vyvanse is a new drug on the market the is very similair to Adderall XR. Like any ADHD medication, this drug does raise one's heart rate and will have an affect on one's stomach. Something that I do is open up the capsule and pour the contents into apple sauce. The mixture of the food and the medication makes it a lot easier on the stomach. The common misconception is that you need the capsule, bu...

Story: I had taken 20MGs Vyvanse as a kid for ADHD, it worked great and soon I was the smartest kid in my whole class, eventually it just stopped working around middle school so I stopped taking it, and my grades went back down to being barely passing. Sophomore year in Highschool, I decided to try it again because I was failing all my classes because I could never stay focused in class, I asked m...

53 yr old female, taking Vyvanse 30mg. Been taking it 2yrs. Some days it helps me focus and get things done and some does it doesnt. Im not liking the inconsistency. Also think that it is killing my emotions. Its very hard for me to feel good about anything. Most of the time i feel numb or i hate everything. I get very agitated, unsocial and to the point i dont like myself or life. Im going to talk to my dr about getting off it. Oh and it totally kills my desire for food. Nothing ever sounds good to eat. This medication makes me irritable and unable to sleep. It would also give me major anxiety. I definitely felt over stimulated. I will be switching to a non stimulate soon.

This is the 3rd rx I have tried specifically for the treatment of ADHD. I was tested for ADHD at the age of 18, but my results were "indefinite" so I assumed I was just scatterbrained. I was fine on it the first few days and then noticed I would get distracted easily, day dream while driving, more worried about forgetting things. It also made my RLS worse at night and harder to sleep. It made my ADHD symptoms a bit different, but not better (if that makes any sense). I have tried Wellbutrin and Concerta also. Of those 3 Concerta was the best. I am going to give Strattera a try or learn to live with it like I have most of my life. Read More Read Less

My son takes Vyvanse and though I have asked his doctor to try something else over and over, my son still takes Vyvanse and I am very tired. My son 9 year old son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 5 and has been on Vyvanse ever since. He’s great during school hours but shuts down and is extremely temperamental and hard to handle after 4:00pm. He never eats so isn’t growing well. He’s always mad and as a parent this is hard to watch. The good news is is he does well in school and is able to socialize well with friends during certain times of the day. But I would like to switch his medication.Read More Read Less

Began taking for adhd and binge eating problems, worked well in treating both, the only downside was trying to find a dose that didnt affect my sleep but still had substantial effect on focus and curving hunger later in the day. This medication was much smoother than adderall! In that I felt much less caffeinated, and there was no crash as the medication wore off. This is also a much safer choice, might I add, for anyone who has epilepsy but is also in need of a ADHD stimulant. Read More Read Less

I have been taking Vyvanse for BED for 4 months and I love it. I have more energy, and no longer feel like an a$$hole, as I don't feel so out of control with food. I am eating better foods, as the focus is now simply on nutrition and not how much food I can eat. I don't have the dry mouth that others are having... just energy, focus and more balanced eating habits.

I've been using Ritalin for years now and didn't know what to expect with Vyvanse. I'm actually quite satisfied with the results. The key is having a good doctor explaining the effects of the drug and how to adjust the dosage based on an individual's need. I found myself having an appetite on Vyvanse. Doctor explained that in order to get the full effect of the drug you have to eat and snack to active the medication. Snacking is very important.

Was prescribed Vyvanse to treat my ADHD after not having luck with Biphentin. The effectiveness of the two night and day for me. I take my 30mg dose about an hour before I get to work, and then my focus is great for the next 5 or so hours. In total, lasts around 6-7 hours with minimal side effects. Of those listed on this website, the only one I sometimes experience is loss of appetite. I get great poops after taking it in the morning though. I also take a break on the weekends when I don't need it, but overall, it works well for me. Just wish it would last a bit longer, but that might be because my dosage may be lower than ideal.Read More Read Less

Been on and off of this med since my freshman year of high school. Certainly helps with focus and I still feel myself when I take it. DO NOT DRINK ON THIS! You will regret it. First starting/ restarting there are some things that'll go away with time. I sweat a lot to start with on Vyvanse I sweat even more. Lasts about 10-12 hours max for me and I take 40mg's. Some days like weekends i'll take a break.

I first began on 30mg and then doctor increased to 40mg and that worked well for about 10 weeks. I began to become, for lack of a better word, immune to it sort of. I now take 60mg in the morning and I have been taking this dose for two day's and I do feel better than I did before, I've got my focus back and can complete any task I try to accomplish; had trouble sleeping though, but looking forward to continuing treatment.

didn't know totally how to feel about this drug at first. prescribed 30 mg, the first couple times I took this drug I was somewhat depressed now I given it another shot and I feel pretty calm collected and focussed. Ritalin was extremely effective for 3 weeks and then stopped working so I have changed to vyvanse. I would recommed this to anyone willing to give it a shot, and remember that everyone is different so this does work and doesn't for others. thanks for reading

was prescribed 20mg for ADD in 2012. After 3 days of taking it i was sent to the hospital for having severe seizures, Panic attacks, dehydration. This drug is dangerous in my opinion. It's simply the prodrug dextroamphetamine. I feel like it's been put on the market simply for money. Thank god for Methylphenidate 20mg (ritalin) It has completely changed my life.

So this is my second week on vyvanse, And i would liketo share this review for anyone who could not find the right answers on how vyvanse exactly makes you feel, however i'am aware that vyvanse reacts differently on everyone. I have been diagnosed with ADD this past year, i have only realized it after failing my school year and getting dismissed. I was unable to focus in my lecture and would get frustrated and unmotivated to get anything done, and this frustration caused me anxiety. After i have done my research and read about ADD and related to the symptoms i decided to get tested and i was diagnosed with ADD this past year. Now to jump to conclusion about the downfalls and the pro's of this drug to see if anyone relates: 1) Less social - Even though i had ADD i was a social person and with this drug i felt so relaxed, some people would think i look upset because my facial muscles are relaxed and i don't laugh as often, i'm much rather more serious than when i was off vyvanse, i always had a smile on my face in public and seemed outgoing. 2) Thinking - On vyvanse i think twice before i act or just generally, "do i look good enough?" "Is my hair in place?" "Should i re-do this?" Taking me back to anxiety and not fully feeling myself or being as slightly carefree as i was before vyvanse. 3) Heart beat- My heartbeat would increase for no reason at all, some moments i'd feel quite comfortable and relaxed and suddenly i would sense anxiety creeping back in and feeling like every one is looking at me or i'am not doing the right thing. Pro's 1) More relaxed - Obviously, i can focus and sit in one possition for hours. I'd hate to say that that's the only Pro that i find in this drug, because all i really needed was to be able to focus, so would i continue taking this drug for a long period of time? Hell no, i would rather feel completely myself again than have to deal with this just because i think there's no other way to reach my goal. Read More Read Less
