I started using Plavix for this condition but I had too many side effects. My doctor changed me to Effient 10mg and once the Plavix was gone, I started to feel great. I have no side effects to this drug and if needed, I will stay on it for the rest of my life. Effient has been very effective for me.

Extreme fatigue and muscle soreness/weakness everyday.Rapid pulse most of the time and I feel short of breath for no reason.I've been to the ER twice for slurred speech and swollen tongue. Many RN's/Dr.'s are unfamiliar with this drug and that makes me wonder how many patients are even using it(?).

Nosebleed, dizzyness, fatigue out-right imbalance and risks of falling. And very expensive. (Even with good insurance) For those without ANY insurance, you may get free-meds from the drug company, if you appliy. Seriously wish my doctor would switch to plavix.

Started taking Effient-10 a couple of days ago after surgery. Too early to determine efficacy and safety.

I had a stent put in LAD and was put on plavix. After a week I had a severe allergic reaction. Then was put on effient. After a week I had another severe reaction. The reaction to effient was extreme nerve pain. No hives, swollen hands and joints, and felt as though I had been skinned alive. Back to the hospital for a weeks worth of flushing out. I am now on Brilenta (5 months) and everything is fine with a few exceptions. Those I would attribute to Effient use are breathing problems, swelling of joints and pain with constant numbness in hands and fingers. All these started after only 7 days on Effient. The heart doc does'nt seem too concerned. But then he has'nt had to give up motorcycling, fishing, or any other thing that a person might want to do with their hands. My advice: GET OFF EFFIENT NOW!!!! Read More Read Less

Have had 3 blood clots since 2003. One after heart bypass, one in optic nerve in eye a year ago, and in stent placed in June 2012. So far I have had only one side effect which is that any cuts take a longer time to stop bleeding and healing. Used to take Plavix, but was not working, evidently, so switched to Effient and hoping to never have another blood clot again.

I have been on effient 10 mg. now with 81 mg. aspirin. My stomach burns like it is on fire within 40 minutes after taking it each day. I am also fatigued and very nauseated. Some intermittent chest pain has returned. I see my doctor in 2 days to see if I can take something other than the effient. Also my bp increases within 1 hour of taking the effient and my pulse increases also. Praying for relief.

Extremely tired. I'm doing exercises for my lungs. Since I've had the stent put in and am using the Effient, I can not complete the lenght of time I was doing before using Effient. I'm so tired I can hardly make it in a day. I bruise so bad and still feel the pressure I was having before stent was in. I told the lung doctor about how decreased length of time since I'm on Effient. The cardioloigst seem to just ignore what I am saying. He's not tried to put me on any other medician to even see if it would improve my tirdness and help me in anyway. I'm seriously thinking of changing cardio doctors. When I had a treadmill done he dsaid all was ok. within just under 6 months I was having a stent put in LAD. Someone explain to me why this didn't show up at that time that I had a 90% blockage. I want a different medician that doesn't make me so tired! Read More Read Less

I had 2 stents put in my heart on March 23, 2012 and I have had bad stomach cramps, very severe back pain and joint pain. My vision is blurred and I feel terrible. This medication is expensive, but I doubt my doctor will take me off it. Does anyone else have stomach pain. I also take Celebrex, but am afraid to take it for fear I will have another ulcer.
