I started using Plavix for this condition but I had too many side effects. My doctor changed me to Effient 10mg and once the Plavix was gone, I started to feel great. I have no side effects to this drug and if needed, I will stay on it for the rest of my life. Effient has been very effective for me.

Started using after receiving a stent in nov 2011. I am so far happy with the drug. Some slight bruising and any nick will bleed awhile longer than normaI. I plan on staying on the drug indefinitely. Currently 66. I exercise daily and watch my diet contentiously. It sure bets having a heart attack. effects that I can ascertain.

Had 2 drug-eluting stents put in on 26 September 2010 here in Mexico where I now live. Have been on Effient 10mg and also take 81mg aspirin. Bruising is only side effect. Also have nightmares but don't know if there is any connection to Effient. I feel much better since having the stents. My cardio used the radial (wrist) method which is much quicker and painless in comparison to through the groin. About 8 years ago in Canada, I had an angiogram through the groin and the recovery and discomfort was worse. Effient costs me $1080 Mexican Pesos ($78 Canadian dollars) so it sounds cheaper here than in the U.S.Read More Read Less

Taken since getting 2 stents a year ago (2/2011). Mild brusing at first and some bleeding but seems to have gone away. I have experienced greater muscle pain and more frequent tiredness but no other side effects and more importantly blood clots! Very expensive drug even with drug coverage.

I had a pipeline stent put in my brain for an aneurysm in August and was on Plavix but they discovered during my surgery that I was immune to it. Effient has worked but I bruise really easy and I'm tired all the time. Small price to pay not to have a major stroke from the stent in my head though.

This is an update to my 6/24/11 review. I was on 10 mg for 14 months. After the first 2 months I developed back & joint pain and had a lot of trouble walking, very tired and I was almost not functioning due to the discomfort. Finally off of this stuff. Back and joint pain almost gone after 2 months. Still have some trouble with left hip area, but at least I can function somewhat. This drug was only tested on 25% women and I think this is disgraceful. Why did FDA okay this?

I have been on this since October of 2010 have had problem from about 2 months after I started on this. I am now having knee, leg, hip, and arm pain weekness having trouble walking up and down stairs.Brusing all over all the time. Bleeding hard to stop and will bleed at just about anywhere any time at night allot of time. Trying to get my Cardio doctor to understand and take me off wish they would not put med stents in had no problem with steel stents they lasted 5 years. I would not recommend this drug to anyone. Doc put me on it after stent procedures to keep stent from stopping up. I have bad headaches, muscle aches, tired, hands and feet swell and ache all over, been on Ticlid 15+ yrs, but doc said it's not effective, have a history of strokes before ticlid...I hate Effient, but doc says I must stay on it...he blows me off when I tell him my symtoms..so I don't have much choice.

Started treatment 5 days ago. So far no side effects that bad. Some joint a pain. Minor. Nicked my self shaving and it took awhile to stop bleeding. I will take it as long as necessary to keep from another stent procedure. Have two stents.

Stent in August 2010. On Effient since. Also hsve Ulcerative Colitis and take Lialda for that condition. Other than easy bruising and bleeding, I have had no problems with this drug. I hate the bruising and bleeding but so far it has worked
