I had to cut this pill in half to be able to take it. When I take a whole one I have trouble breathing.

I have been on this med for 1 month with some unpleasant side effects. I have had severe shortness of breath, painful rash on chest and stomach, headaches and unsteadiness. I must take Brilinta for 1 year. I don't feel like doing anything. My Dr.'s insist that this is the best blood thinner out there.

Unfortunately, only one dosage size of Brilinta has been made available - So I am taking the same dosage as a male patient who weighs 250. I am a female patient, 75 who weighs 140 lbs. Too much medicine - too many side effeccts.

Could not take shortness of breath and hives. Dr. gave me another stress test to see if stents were working they are fine but had to pay for another high cost stress test. Dr. changed me to Effient seems to be working.

This med worked fine for 40 days. On 40th day, I started passing blood and clots in my urine ans within 8 hours I could not urinate due to clots in my bladder. I got cleaned out in hospital ER. Plavix does not work for me and I am allegic to Effient, so Brilina is my only choice, and I am back on it cautiously watching fo more bldiong.

Taken over three months following four stents and open heart surgery (mitral valve rapair and replacement). Brilinta: 90 mg twice a day. Uncertain if Brilinta is the cause, but after one month dizzyness started when standing up or going up stairs(about every third time, same with stairs), acute shortness of (acute gasping for)breath climbing stairs. Subsequent ulmonary and other cardiac tests show nothing wrong with stents or mitral repair; Brilinta is only difference in medications from previously. Dizzyness is reaching point where I am unstable walking and must hold onto something stable or fear of falling.Read More Read Less

I had two coronary stents put in the right decending artery of my heart in December. I had had a plain metal stent installed 15 years before and my physician seemed to be in favor of using medicated stents this time. Medicated stents require "seasoning" and Brilinta was chosen as the drug. I have bruised easily and am having some nose bleeds after 5 months. Would like to really know if I can quite after 6 months or have to endure these disruptive side effects for 12 months. I am 68 and this is one more pill, twice a day. The side effects are somewhat disruptive and I dislike having to adjust to them. If I had it to do again, I would get plain metal stents and avoid this hassle. 15 years is probably long enough for them to last at my age.Read More Read Less
