I have been taking this drug for 3 weeks. Side effects are minimal, my psoriasis is clearing up, less pain and stiffness in my joints. After being on methotrexate, I was relieved to find that this drug actually works for me without all the side effects of the other DMARD drugs.

Otezla is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I had to call three times to finally talk to a representative who followed through and had it sent to me. When I called for a refill, I was promised it would be sent. After a week, I had not received it, and called again. I was on the phone for one hour. The representation with whom I spoke could not locate me, despite checking on my name, RX ...

I saw clearing of my skin within the first few days. My joints are not as stiff. At this point I am just hoping that side effects subside. I don't want to take a biologic, and have been on the strongest topical corticosteroids that are no longer effective for me. A general description- I feel disgusting! Headache, decreased appetite, nausea, fatigue. Just an overall nasty feeling. It is supposed to have incidence of increased depression, I don't know if I have that really or I just feel so nasty that I am not motivated to do much. I ran out of the medicine and was out for a few days, I felt so much better not being no the meds, but my skin immediately started to relapse. SO..the medication is effective. I just hope the side effects go away.Read More Read Less

Skin started clearing up- but side effects of persistent bad diarrhea, gout & anemia were causing to much discomfort to continue taking Otezla.

I have been using this medication now for a little over 3 months to treat my psoriasis as well as psoriasis arthritis. Neither have subsided in fact my joint pain has become worse. Not to mention the tremendous annoyance of side effects I have been experiencing. The major one being heart burn/indigestion/feeling of food or pills stuck in my throat. It is literally making my life a nightmare. I used to be on Humira which worked great for both of my cnditions. unfortunately, i was diagnosed with Hep B, therefore my doctor took me off of the biologic in fear of liver damage. I am at my whits end trying to figure out what my next step is in treating this debilitating pain and making sure not to cause any damage to my liver.Read More Read Less

This medicine has really helped my psoriatic arthritis. I have been on it for about 9 months. My swelling and pain are gone. I did have loose stools and headaches in the beginning but nothing I couldn't handle and it went away after about a month. Considering the other options available, this is a no brainer.

I have been on this medication for 3 months. I am still experiencing frequent Diarrhea, extreme Nausea, migraine headaches, hair loss, and increased joint pain, with new pain and swelling in joints previously not affected. I am staying on it 4 more weeks to give it additional time to possibly increase it's effectiveness. I am only continuing to try to deal with this daily/nonstop pain and swelling because I have already tried Methotrexate, Humira, Embrel, and Remicade infusions. I walk haltingly with a cane, although it is getting difficult because of the extreme pain now in my foot joints, and the frequent inability to hold the cane firmly enough to assist my walking.Read More Read Less

I had to stop taking Enbrel which was working well for me. I went on Otezla and all the aches and pains I wasn't aware I had came rushing in. I have been on Otezla for 10 weeks and my symptoms keep getting worse - I can barely walk now and have seen absolutely no improvement from Otezla though the side effects have been horrible.

When I called for a refill, I was promised it would be sent. After a week, I had not received it, and called again. I was on the phone for one hour. The representation with whom I spoke could not locate me, despite checking on my name, RX and phone number. I was asked about 6 times for the correct spelling of my name, etc. The representative finally found me, then I had to wait another thirty minutes to talk with the individual who could send it to me. I finally talked to the pharmacy department who informed me I did NOT have a "refill" agreement, though I was TOLD earlier I would receive the medication at no cost to me through December. The side effects are unpleasant, the psoriasis plaques have not improved, and it seems that very few representatives follow through with what they say they will do. You are on hold for a long time, so if you choose to try this medication, call in the morning. My husband tells me I am too kind in this lack of recommendation.Read More Read Less

On my first week of using this after switching from Enbrel. Seems to be clearing up - but maybe a little bit early to tell. Putting flouocinonide cream sparingly too.

To early to know for sure. Nothing has really worked. Methotrexate nearly killed me. Despite being the only medication to make me sick on it. also got liver end stage liver disease. They said my liver would repair itself. But, did not and I am on liver transplant list.

I found this medication easier to tolerate then anything else I've been on for my psoriatic arthritis. Because of the everyday dosing the results are consistent, unlike the weekly to every six week dosing of other meds. Eventually I did get over the vomiting, nausea, intestinal cramps and diarrhea. That did take more then 8 weeks. The headaches, insomnia, and excess bleeding seem they will never stop. I also wish it was more effective, my tendon pain is nearly gone, and I am more flexible but my joints are still swollen and achy. Still this is better then anything else I've been on. On this medication since 11-04-14 and no noticeable decrease in low back psoratic arthritis. Pharmacy clerk told me it takes 6-8 months for total effectiveness. I need to check this out with my doctor. If so, too long to wait for pain relief!!

I took less than the recommended dose and side effects were still extreme. NAUSEA and MIGRAINES DAILY...Migraines lasted Roughly three hours, therefore spent days in bed. It did however seem to help the arthritis pain and psoriasis bumps.
