Towards the end of the treatment very fatigue muscle aches. feeling as if I fell down & whole body aches, especially toards my back.Also had trouble sleeping was only getting about 3 hours a night

Since the Zpac didn't work on me for my sinus infection, the doc prescribed Avelox to me and I will NEVER use it again in my life. Severe side affects. I thought I was gonna die within the 1st 20 mins of taking it. I had to take 3 days off work b/c I felt very dizzy and faintish. Severe abdominal cramps. Ended up finishing the 5 pills b/c they cost me $100. Other doc I went to see told me that I should have never been prescribed that b/c a lot of doctors are doing away with that drug b/c of the severe cardiac side affects. Two weeks later, I got an yeast infection and I was prescribed Diflucin. I also now have a white furry tongue, I blame it on Avelox. Don't take it!!! was prescribed 400 mg dose 1 daily for 7 days for a sinus infection. by 3rd dose had total body pain which progressed until I could not walk, headache,tremors,confusion, and stuttering. stopped this drug but the body pain has continued. I have seen a Rheumatologist, hematologist and am now seeing a neurologist. I am slowly recovering my balance and mobility. I did not feel this way before being treated with this drug. Beware. There are many serious side effects and I personally* know 3 other people who have had a similar combination of symptoms (after using this drug) although none as serious as mine.Read More Read Less

My doc picked up on legionares disease and treated me with Avelox. I was legless(with a severe case) and this miracle drug Knocked out this disease within 3 days I felt alive again, 7-8 days back to normal. The only side effect was an ichy rear-end, but I will take tha anyday.

i took 1 pill and that was enough to say the least. About 1 hour after taking the pill everything fell apart. I got so nauseated that I did not know what to do. Then I started shaking uncontrollably in my hands, tremors so bad that I could not even hold a cup of coffee without spilling it everywhere..Then I was extremely dizzy and felt very anxious. My blood pressure was read by a nurse at where I work, thank god for that it was 166/89....im normally 116/65 I called the pharmacist he said these reactions were normal...normal? the nurse called the same pharmacist, he said I was having an exaggerated hypersensitive response and that I should stop the medication. I had to have my husband come pick me up from work. I called the Dr and am still awaiting a call back. DO NOT take this medication. Suffered through Pneumonia after surgery, had tried another drug for 10 day no effective. As the illness got worse, I reached out to my doctors and they perscribed Avelox 400 MG. On the second day I noticed a large improvement in my lungs.

My mother was given this medicine for a sore throat. Avelox was suppose to be an antibiotic that was preferred for patients taking Digoxin for atrial fibrillation. Approx 20 minutes after taking the medication she experience a period of complete blindness for approx. 20 minutes. This is a awful medication and needs to be removed from the market. At a minimum, this should be added to the long list of horrible side effects.

The DR. only prescribed 3 pills upon taking the first one I felt much much better and I had been on other meds that did not work. Avelox worked quickly with only 3 doses and different DR.

Within first ten minutes of first dose experienced severe nausea, severe headache, shortness of breath and bad dreams. Came to webmd to check what others experienced before taking second dose and decided not to continue. Thanks for sharing.

this medication caused vision problems

I had to stop taking this medication after three days. It caused extreme nervousness, increased anxiety, sleeplessness, and my tongue swelled and became very inflamed. This is the worst medicine I have ever taken--I'm 66. The cost was ridiculous--20 pills retailed for almost $500.00--seniors as well as others can't afford this. Take this off the market!!!!!!!!!

allergic reaction

Pneumonia: don't know the particular type I finished my dosage--7-- today. I do feel it is helped BUT I'm not sure if I'll express myself cortrctly BECAUSE the ability to think and rationalize is not there. The warning paper insert stated this may be a problem--it is very unnerving--I don't like some of thoughts--they just aren't me. Wish I could describe the feelings/thoughts

After reading other reviews I am extremely fortunate. After 48 hours my infection, fever and body aches have improved greatly. However since I am using with prednisone I am watching for tendon inflammation and irritation to avoid those complications that can occur. Just wondering how long shall I wait before resuming my exercise & workout routines.

Side-effects were horrible - leg cramps, heel pain, anxiety, leg tremor. 15 months later, anxity and leg tremor persist. Neurologist even diagnosed tremor as Parkinson's. 2nd neurologist recognized it as drug-induced. But no one seems to know how to stop it. Parkinson's medication had no effect.

CAUSED delusions, anxiety, sleeplessness.

I am a 31 year old female, and have been prescribed this medication 3x in the past year for bronchitis. Avalox is the only thing that seems to work for me, and I have not had any side effects. The recovery time is superb, and I am so thankful I've finally found something that works.

Doctor prescribed Avelox for Sinusitis. After the first 400 mg dose I had severe nausea, and later developed a severe headache, which I did not initially associate with the medication. It felt like a swelling of my right lobule, unlike the Sinusitis symptoms I had before. The second day on Avelox, the same side effects became more severe and included dizziness. I went back to the doctor and changed the antibiotic, however the headache associated to Avelox lasted more than 30 hours, making any improvements in my Sinus condition almost irrelevant. I do not recommend Avelox as a first option for anyone, and would urge patients to discontinue treatment immediately if they experience similar side effects.Read More Read Less

After being bitten by a spider and spending a week in the hospital, I was prescribe this medicine. I have had a very hard time with it. But I usually am allergic to all antibiotics, so I took the risk. I am have trouble with my eyes, throat, hives. I am allergic to this medicine as well. I am taking an antihistamine with it. I see that I have only one pill left to take, hopefully I will not be in the hospital with a severe allergic reaction. I am scared to death, but I also have to get to work. Benadryl seems to work for now. As each day passes , I have to take more and more to reverse the allergic reaction. But I have only one pill left today.
