They put me on Cafergot a few months ago and it has been a life saver if I take it at the onset of an attack. However they have stopped making the generic version and my insurance won't pay for brand name so i can't get it. Really stinks because I haven't found much that helps. My father actually used to treat his migraines with this same medication as an injection and did wonders for him too.

I take this if no other medicine I have for headaches is working. One-half a suppository often is adequate headache relief.

I have been on this from past 8 years. Though initially it was very effective for migraine relief, but it got me addicted till i was over and above the recommended maximum dosage. Nothing less than any narcotic addiction. I developed rebounds. Now I am trying to go cold turkey and discontinue it completely. Psychological dependence is the worst.

I laid in the hospital 3 days after surgery not being able to state I was having a migtaine. When finally I could tell the doctor he ordered the caffergot sup and I was able to come out of my state of head pain. It is the only medication that gets rid of my pain, before a full blown attack or during the attack.
