Have taken this for years, literally, since no insurance (come on Medicare) for the "magical purple pill"- it works very well and I start to suffer symptoms by second day of I don't get to the store for more- so it definitely relives symptoms. What amazes me is that it is the main ingredient in the expensive OTC (Prilosec, Zantac etc) and you can buy 200 tablets 150 mg at Walmart for about $7.00. ...
My doctor gave me this to try to help with the heartburn I had developed from apparent GERD, while it did help my heartburn at night while I slept, I noticed it caused me to have more heartburn overall and more frequently, if I missed a dose I would get severe heartburn. Until now I only had heartburn while laying down, now I have heartburn all the time. I wanted to have less heartburn, not take...

My daughter has been on this since she was 2 months old. She has extreme acid reflux which was causing her to throw up - not spit up - nearly everything she ate. It was SO BAD! We tried Reglan first & it did nothing. This did the trick once we figured out that when she gains weight we have to up the dosage! She's 7 months old now & hardly spits up anymore as long as she has this medicine twice a day. Thank goodness for it & our doctor that didn't give up!

experiencing heartburn for the first time was not good at all. I wish i had this earlier in my pregnancy. The chewables and other brands did not do anything for me. 150 mg's of Ranitidine a day was the only heartburn relief ive gotten. I was very satisfied.

It was only after taking this drug for 12 months, upon advice from physician, that I realized it was causing extreme hair loss, mild depression and overall feeling of malaise.

I wish I had discovered this a long time ago the generic version is dirt cheap and the drug is far more effective than any chewable tablets. I almost never have any heartburn or reflux symptoms.
