A little stomach ache for a few minutes after taking the drug on an empty stomach. Eating food first eliminates that.

I find that it can take up to 8 hours to relieve an attack. I think you have to accept it is no quick fix. Relieving the symptoms by chilling the area affected helps until then. It has no effect on the leukocytes that are causing the inflammatory response (and subsequent pain) already in the bloodstream. It does make me a bit dizzy for a short time, but that is a small price to pay for the eventual relief. Everyone is different and what works for one doesnt necessarily work for all.

My condition worsened after taking this medication; increased pain and swelling to the point I can barely walk. However, no side effects like nausea, dizziness, or drowsiness.

I took this med for a badly sore, swollen and leaky ingrown toe/toenail. It was prescribed along with Doxy-Cycline HYC 100mg tab. These two together performed miracles. BUT the side effects of the two were something to endure. With two weeks left on the Indomethacin, I find it to be most severe on me as far as side effects are concerned. Advice to prospective users, if you work, plan to take a brief vacation. It took me two full days off work plus going in later after consuming med earlier that morning. But my work hours are flexible. Please take with food. Although I did so, I still experienced nervous and upset stomach. I also vomited. Had slight headaches with blurred vision. Also experienced constipation, drowsiness and dizziness. Oh and the gas, bloating and feeling full was no fun either. With two weeks left on that particular med, I can’t complete. Good medicine but I can no longer take it due to the side effects.Read More Read Less

This medicine caused me to have extreme dizziness and nausea. It was like motion sickness...room spinning. Maybe that's why my insurance denied it. I wish I hadn't gone ahead and paid out of pocket for it.

Listen up EVERYONE! Indomethecin is the answer to GOUT! I have tried other medications, also some natural remedies such as tart cherry juice concentrate, tumeric, but NOTHING has been as phenomenal as indomethecin. I was very hesitant to use it because of the precautions and the serious side effects which of course, should be a consideration. But I have been in so much pain I was willing to chance it. I took one capsule at 7:02pm on that evening and by 12:30am the next day - just 5.5 hours later, there was no more PAIN!! Hooray!! I was ecstatic! One pill brought total relief! It is truly amazing. It's a very inexpensive choice as well. OMG! This is THE ANSWER!! Look no further! ...Read More Read Less

I had an elbow injury, Naproxen Sodium (Aleve) was working for me but my doctor pushed Indomethacin on me. Not only did it not work, it made me jittery and hyper-aware of the pain in my elbow and made my other problem joints (knees) hurt worse than they normally do. I had to wait 12 painful hours before I could safely switch back to Aleve.

After experiencing the worst gout attack in my life that progressed over 2 weeks I was prescribed Inomethacin. I felt relief within 6 hours and after 2 days the pain is completely gone, just a mild redness is left. The side effects were horrible. Nausea, dizziness and drowsy. You should definitely not drive on this medication. The benefits out weigh the side effects for a bad attack. I wouldn't take this medication for a mild attack.

I have had gout attacks for many years which I could treat with Aleve. Two weeks ago I had a bad attack that aleve wouldn't help. Went to doctor and was given these to help with inflammation. This drug gave me immediate relief within hours.

3 years of immense back pain; diagnosis was RA, and this is the only drug to touch my pain. I do get the dizziness and lethargy side effects associated, but this really changed my life.

I received this med for my recent Gout ... I could not walk... I also have Fibromyalgia, OsteoArthritis , RA, CFS, and so much more going on including severe lower lumbar issues... The med has been relieving my gout pain and also I noticed it relieves my other joint pain... My Dr said I cant take this long term which is a shame because everything I tried for all my chronic pain issues never worked ..but this med seems to lessen the severity... I wish it could be taken long term for all my chronic issues... Read More Read Less

It works fine on my gout, but the side effects are intolerable. Constant ringing in the ears, panic attacks, diarrhea and brain fog.

I've had Gout for several years. My quick fix was to ingest a full bottle of Black Cherry Concentrate from my local Big Y Supermarket. It was the only non-medical treatment that worked for me. As of late, I have had several attacks in one year. This prompted me to ask my Physician for advice and she said to try these pills. Well, I'm here to tell you they work just fine. I take one pill, drink plenty of water 48oz a day, and by 24 hours the pain starts to subside, which is about the same time it took for the juice to work. Unfortunately, I don't always have a bottle on hand.....or find it in a lot of other stores when traveling. I do watch my diet these days, reading everything to see if they contain shell fish by-products, but sometimes it's an accumulative total that sneaks up and causes an attack. Good Luck, and may "Your" God Bless you.Read More Read Less

My PCP recommended I see an orthopedic specialist for a pain in right knee c/o obesity. The medication eliminated ALL of the knee joint pain; however, after weeks of feeling great, I stopped taking the medicine. Within 2-3 days I was in pain all over my body. Every muscle hurt. I hurt miserably, and in places that did not hurt prior to taking the medicine. I even hurt lying in bed, and had trouble sleeping c/o pain. Please consult your provider before any sudden cessation of this medication.

Had ankle pain and didn't suspect it was gout until the second day (previously only occurred in big toe). This, with colchicine and ice, reduced pain and swelling 50% overnight. Much better at midday. No going commando with this stuff. Might even carry spares next time.
