A little stomach ache for a few minutes after taking the drug on an empty stomach. Eating food first eliminates that.

It worked as prescribed. I was back on my feet and moving around in 2 days. I was completely pain free on the third day and back at work with no restrictions.

I was diagnosed with Cervical Stenosis, Fibromyalgia and Osteo-Arthritis of the Spine. I have been taking this medication as a "Break Thru" pain med for the past year and half.. and has been a LIFE SAVER for those moments where pain is elevated. and have found it reduces the pain levels significantly so I can function . It helped from the first day I took it, and has been the only Anti-inflammatory that can be taken prior to injections I get for the Cervical stenosis. Also find it has reduced pain during my menstrual cycle and for Migraines . It is the ONLY med.. that has seemed to help in the reduction of pain.. Read More Read Less

Have suffered from gout on and off for years, even though I am now taking Allopurinol to prevent attacks, which has worked well, whenever I feel a twing of gout starting usually in my feet, I start taking the indomethacin 50 and it seems to stop any attack in its tracks. I have not had any side effects, and it seems to be the one thing that works.

Pain and Swelling in my knee was the result of a gout attack. The drug did give me diarhea, but fiber pills helped to combat that. Within 48 hours, the swelling had gone down and the pain was gone. I was able to walk without crutches. I have noticed some stiffness in my right shoulder/neck area (as if from sleeping wrong), and drowsiness has been an issue. But so far, the side-effects have been worth it to releave the pain and swelling.

This medicine worked great for knocking out the pain, but it made me feel really depressed, sleepy and morbid. I noticed this last time I took it as well.

I found indomethacin to work well initially (taking with a meal and omeprazole because it destroyed my stomach if I didn't however, after a couple of weeks my legs, hands and feet began to swell and fill with fluid.

Along with age comes a variety of joint issues. Mine included swelling and bursitis in the large toe on my left foot. Add a bit of arthritis, and you have swelling, discomfort, and pain. After about week or so on a 25mg 3x a day regime, the toe swelling and irritation disappeared. It did not return until 2 years later - just now. And, of course, I am taking the 25mg 3x daily indomethacin. After one day, the discomfort and swelling is easing rapidly.

I initially started this on a as-needed basis for toe pain. It was a miracle drug for that, usually 1 or 2 doses would knock it out. Now, the gout has moved to my ankle, and has been much more difficult to treat. Sometimes the conditions last a week...hobbling around in various amounts of pain before the symptoms cease. BUT...I always drank too much beer, have had to eliminate that and get on Alopurinol as a long-term solution. I just started on it and now my conditions are worse as the crystals are broken up and floating around my joints, so I also have to take the indomethacin to control the constant pain. From what I've read here, this is common and hopefully everything will balance out...in a week or two.Read More Read Less

I have been using this medication for years. AS soon as I feel pain onset in my toe I take a 25mg pill with a meal and often that is all I have to take. Rarely do I take more than one if I catch it on time. I have had no side effects when taken with food.

This medication does take away the pain, however it comes with certain side effects that outweighed the benefits. Within 3 days of taking Indocin, I experienced numbness and tingling in my extremities and day 4 it started affecting my lips and tongue. I also experienced mental/mood changes. I an typically a very engaging and caring person, I became disconnected and apathetic. No matter the relief this medication gave me, I couldn't continue with those side effects.
