A little stomach ache for a few minutes after taking the drug on an empty stomach. Eating food first eliminates that.

I was placed on this drug after having several painful episodes that prevented me from walking or even putting on shoes. I initially thought it was gout, but my symptoms were bilatersl. I've since been diagnosed with RA. This med has had a tremendous positive effect on my condition, albeit wearing shoes for any length of time becomes painful ( usually after a couple of hours ). Having some foot inserts made and will see if that doesn't mitigate the rest of the issue for me.

Prescribed for gout (ankle). The next day I had Parkinson like symptoms (shaking, uncontrollable muscle movements, etc. Got worse for the next three days, started having stroke-like symptoms, and ended up in the hospital. Took five days for it to wash out of my system and return to normal.

Seemed to have every side affect listed. Severe headache, dizziness, nausea, etc. Also had the mental side affects, if you will. Heart racing, sweats, MAJOR panic attack, etc. While I do have diagnosed health phobia, agoraphobia, etc still this medicine made those attacks come flying at me. A few times I had my phone in hand to call 911 but was able to get myself to fall asleep to get through those episodes.

Gives me more energy and strength to do chores such as grocery shopping. Helps reduce pain of fybromyalgia. It may, in combination with my other meds, reduce pain.

Two days after a gout attack, I went to see my medical provider. I was given indomethacin (50 mg tablets) to take 1 tablet 3 times daily to as an anti-inflammatory to reduce the swelling and hydrocodone for pain as I was experiencing significant pain. After taking the indomethacin for 3 days, my foot continued to swell increasing by about a factor of 3x, although the pain was significantly reduced by the hydrocodone. I went to see my medical provider and they stopped the indomethacin and prescribed colcrs (colchicine, 0.6mg) - two tablets followed by one tablet one hour later. This was at noon. By the time I went to bed, there was not change in the swelling. By the time I got up, the swelling had decreased to the level of my first visit to my medical provider, so a reduction of about 3x and I am no longer taking hydrocodone. Hopefully, the swelling and the pain will continue to decrease. We'll see.Read More Read Less

When I have had gout attacks I took this with Colcrys and the gout went away in 3 days. Not sure if it was due to this or Colrys but seeing all the high ratings I am guessing it must be this one. AND Colcrys is about $100 for 30 pills

I was prescribed 50 mg. 3 times a day for gout pain in my toe. It seemed to work right away but experienced dizziness and stomach upset. I always took it with meals. On the third day, I was having my second mug of coffee and felt very week on my left side. Dumped the coffee and drank some water and laid down for a while. I think I had a mild stroke. The combo of the pills and coffee (vasoconstricting?)almost got me! Please be very careful when drinking caffeine and taking medications. Maybe 50 mg. was too much. Now I am just taking 400 m.g. of ibuprofen 2-3 times a day now and will see how that works. Also going to add 500 m.g. vitamin c, 2-3 times a day to see if it helps any.Read More Read Less

I have been taking 25 mg twice a day for the past 3 weeks. It is amazing. I have found as with any new drug, give it a little time to see if it works for you. Initially I was tired but kept myself busy and it went away. I have hip bursitis, arthritis in my hips and back pain. Also take gabapentin but that does not help arthritis. After only 3 weeks I can go up and down stairs easily and sleep thru the night. I am very pleased. It does cause a little gas but that is a trade off I will accept to have no pain.Read More Read Less
