After reading so many bad reviews on Reclipsen I was really freaked out! I'm 19 and this is the first kind of birth control I've ever been on and IT IS A DREAM! I went from having moderate acne, to no new breakouts. My periods last around 3 days and everything is good! I'm in the middle of my second month and it's great! I had one or two headaches since I started, but that could be caused by other...

I've been on this birth control for almost 4 years now. I have always noticed an increase in anxiety, depression, and a decrease in sex drive when taking this medication. My weight has been fairly stable while taking reclipsen. I've been on Yaz, alesse, and ortho tricyclin before taking reclipsen. I am seriously considering going back to Alesse. Reclipsen is only $10 per month with my insura...

I switched from the generic brand Apri to Reclipsen simply because my pharmacy did not carry it. Because I had recently moved, I thought the changes I was undergoing were because of stress, but after three months of negative changes, I looked into Reclipsen's side effects. My moodiness increased significantly, and I was extremely depressed (was not prior) the first month of taking it. My hair has thinned and falls out much easier than before. Also, if I take it before eating anything, I am nauseated and feel extremely faint. I have used three other birth control brands and never had any substantial side effects, but something about Reclipsen does not sit well with me.Read More Read Less

Gained a little weight, but I don't know if I can blame that on the pill. My acne was terrible and I've had some pretty nasty mood swings. Other than that Reclipsen was great for cramps and heavy periods.

I started this birth control about a month ago and haven't had any negative side effects. At first I was a bit emotional but I think that was just my body adjusting. It's been great! No headaches, insomnia, loss of sex drive, or anything like that. I've lost weight too, but that may have to do more with a very active lifestyle. Don't write off Reclipsen until you've talked to your doctor because all bodies are different. Plus, some of the negative things people here have attributed to the pill could very easily have been caused by a variety of other stressors. I'm very pleased so far. Read More Read Less

I switched from Gianvi to Reclipsen about 4 months ago and am satisfied for the most part. The only complaint I have is that I now have pretty bad acne along my jaw/side of face/neck area that will not go away. May consider going back to Gianvi or something else, but I just hate the first month of switch Hing to a birth control when your body is trying to adjust.

this is my first time taking birth control, and i have been pleasantly surprised with reclipsen. i did not gain any weight, my skin stayed the same if anything possibly got a little better. i haven't noticed any unusual symptoms, but my sex drive has decreased. overall i would recommend it. i've been on it for 1 year, have not gotten pregnant, have barely noticed any changes at all.

I know birth control affects everyone differently but I would like to share my experience with Reclipsen. I started taking it in November of 2013. In May 2014 I noticed a rash on my left leg that I thought was just eczema. In June 2014, my vision went blurry out of nowhere and I started having anxiety and chest pains. In July 2014 I woke up with severe abdominal cramping and found out I had gallstones after a trip to the ER. Just yesterday, August 18, 2014, I had surgery to get my gallbladder removed. I am most certain all of this was caused by taking Reclipsen after doing much research on the internet. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS PILL. OR ANY OTHER BC PILL FOR THAT MATTER. THE RISK TO YOUR HEALTH ARE NOT WORTH IT. SOME CAN BE LIFE THREATENING OR EVEN FATAL. I AM DONE WITH BIRTH CONTROL FOREVER. I do not wish to scare anyone. I just wanted to share my experience in the hope of saving someone the trouble of going through what I went through. Btw, I was not informed of risks such as gallstones when my GYN prescribed me the pill. I feel better after my surgery and I am hoping my vision will return back to normal soon. I hope this is helpful to at least one person out there. Trust me, you are not going crazy. Read More Read Less

I have a very difficult time finding a pill that does not give side effects. I"ve been on Reclipsen about 3 years and it has been perfect. No side effects, even the first month. Light periods. Obviously doesn't work for everyone, but an excellent experience for others.

I've been on Birth Control for quite some time already (9 years) at first I started off with Ocella, then got off of it and started taking Reclipsen. Its very effective at not getting pregnant but I noticed many changes while on it. I am a lot more moody than ever, I gained a little weight, and I breakout a lot on face, especially my chin. Recently I've had to go to the doctor for a fast heart rate, shortness of breath, and dizziness. I also feel nauseated at times and very fatigued. Going to the Gyno to get off Reclipsen because I think that's whats affecting me. Read More Read Less

I was put back on BC to stop heavy periods causing anemia. Well first month OK, 2nd month thru current 4th month spotting starting on 2nd week of pills that goes on and off until I get the dummy pills. No regular period at all during dummy pills. I have had bad headaches, very sensitive emotions and the darn breakthrough bleeding. NOT happy at all and ready to quit them. I am 44 years old and not expecting kids anytime again soon. Would rather be off the pills since I felt better and had a sexual appetite. I don't have one now. Nothing..... Read More Read Less

I started this medication due to painful and irregular periods and within the first month I saw significant change. My periods were so much easier, I no longer felt pain during my periods, I would sometimes forget that I had it. It also cleared up ALL of my acne that I had been fighting for years. Would definitely recommend this to anyone!

I took this for 2 weeks as part of IVF, and on the first day it made me so nauseous that I threw up. The nausea improved after that, but still lasted for about the first week I took them before it faded away almost completely. I was also extremely moody, and I have zits all over my face.

I've been on birth control for about 10 years now. I've taken brand names and generics of a lot of different pills. For the past few years, I was on Ortho-cept. It worked perfect for me. No problems, no side effects. Two months ago, my doctor gave me Reclipsen because they stopped carrying Ortho-cept. Suddenly, my anxiety tripled. I started being moody and depressed. I'm prone to migraines, but I've been getting throbbing headaches every other day. I have absolutely no appetite, but somehow I've gained weight. Also, I have no sex drive. Which is insane, considering that I've always had a very active sex life and I adore my husband. This birth control has basically turned me into a really depressing robot. Going to the doctor to get things changed ASAP.Read More Read Less

I was on Reclipsen for only 6 weeks when I was hospitalized for a bilateral pulmonary embolism. Age 24 and have never smoked. Please do your research and you will see more of these newer birth controls are causing MORE blood clots...some which are not caught in time like mine. I am so thankful to be alive but should have never been put into this situation in the first place. I'm dealing with the aftermath of the clots which may or may not dissolve- my life has changed for the worse in just a matter of weeks because of Reclipsen.Read More Read Less

I just started my second package so it is early to say, but so far I am more than happy. The only side effect, which I hope will go away in a couple of cycles is the breakthrough bleeding (very light, just brownish, couple of drops a day for several days). Lighter period, less cramps. Nothing else is different than when I am not taking it.

Is there any relationship between reclipsen and tachycardia. I am 17 years old and on the drug for 8 months. I developed tachycardia, unknown cause 2 months ago. My resting heart rate is 90-110, with spikes of 160-180 with physical activity. I am 5 foot 3 inches, 107 pounds. I am an alpine skier, and tennis player. If I run, my heart rate increases significantly and I am short of breath and dizzy. Seeing a cardiologist. Wondering if reclipsen my have any effect on heart rate. I've had echocardiogram, cat scan to rule out pulmonary embolism, 24 hour holter monitor shows sinus tachycardia. Feeling very fatigued as well. Read More Read Less

I used to get hormonal acne cysts in multiple areas of my face and I have found that Reclipsen has stopped any cysts from forming on my face. I still do get small blemishes, but they go away quickly. I used to be on TriSprintec and I had horrible stomach and head aches while on that pill. I also gained a few pounds. My weight has not changed much on Reclipsen, nor have I experienced any uncomfortable side effects. Overall, I have had a great reaction to Reclipsen!

As a counterpoint to all the horror stories, just thought I'd report that it works fine for me, with no noticeable side effects.

I started taking Reclipsen about 4 months ago, and I would not recommend this birth control to anyone. First, my period has been continuing for over a month now. Second, my nausea is so bad I feel like I'm going to be sick at least once a day. I've noticed I've progressively fallen into a depressive and lethargic state that leaves me with zero energy throughout the day. My mood swings are unstable. I never cry, and I've cried almost every day on this birth control. I've noticed a change in vision and consistent migraines. My eyes have been extremely dry and sensitive to most light. I've notices a lot of water retention and bloating. I'm a very active person and I'm not able to gain muscle like I used to. These symptoms came on gradually, and after 4 months I cannot take this birth control any longer. I ranked the effectiveness at 5 stars, because it does it's job at preventing pregnancy, because nobody wants to sleep with a hormonal, bloated, lethargic person! Read More Read Less
