After reading so many bad reviews on Reclipsen I was really freaked out! I'm 19 and this is the first kind of birth control I've ever been on and IT IS A DREAM! I went from having moderate acne, to no new breakouts. My periods last around 3 days and everything is good! I'm in the middle of my second month and it's great! I had one or two headaches since I started, but that could be caused by other...

I've been on this birth control for almost 4 years now. I have always noticed an increase in anxiety, depression, and a decrease in sex drive when taking this medication. My weight has been fairly stable while taking reclipsen. I've been on Yaz, alesse, and ortho tricyclin before taking reclipsen. I am seriously considering going back to Alesse. Reclipsen is only $10 per month with my insura...

I decided to get on birth control because my skin and severe cramping were really getting in the way of everyday life. Previously on Avainne for 2 months, I was nauseous during the first week both times, my already troublesome acne was worsened, and I had mood swings. My weight was maintained and my cycle become more regular but I couldn't take it anymore. Switching to Reclipsen, my acne is much improved, although not completely clear, I do not have the crazy mood swings, my horrible cramping without birth control is now very manageable with an occasional Aleve, my cycle is regular, I experience very little bloating and coupled with an already active lifestyle, I have lost 5-6 pounds. I have not noticed any increase in headaches, tenderness or pain in my body. I am in my 4th month and unless there is a drastic change, I will stay on Reclipsen.Read More Read Less

I have been taking this pill for about 4 months now and I couldn't be happier! My doctor prescribed it to me to help acne as well as serve as a birth control. I'm 20 and have had moderate acne since I was about 15 and now I barely get one pimple! It has also made me lose weight-the bc I used before it made me bloat. The only negative side affect I've experienced is feeling a bit moody/down a few days before I get my period, otherwise it's great!

I've only been on reclipsen for 2 weeks now and I am already having horrible side effects. I am normally a high energy person I now can hardly keep my eyes open past 7 pm. Every day for the past 2 weeks I have gotten a pretty intense headache. I am more moody than usual and my sex drive is non exsistent. Ive also managed to gain 4 pounds since starting this medication. I'm assuming it is water weight. I will stick it out for a month or two to see if things get better, but if not, I will definitely be switching to something else.Read More Read Less

I was on this birth control for a month and that is all it took for my hormones to get thrown all around. I have neve been emotionally unstable in my life especially having taken bc for the last 12 years of my life. But this bc made me on edge everyday, anxious, depressed, and so moody that even my child was nervous to be around me. I have tried different bc pills before and this was by far the worst. I would never recommend this to anyone.

I am 31. I have always been on a birth control. I have tried for the most part (Orth T- Lo, Loestrin Lo) I like both. After having my first son, I got back on loestrin Lo. Maybe my hormones had not regulated, but it made me sick, so my doctor reccomended I try Reclipson. WHY? I HAVE NO IDEA! I gave it a chance, 6 months. I have never had more nausea in my life, not even when I was preggo. My period was torture: HEAVY bleeding and cramping up to a week before and after my period. Like many people's review, I also expereinced a drastic change in my mood. I have severe increased anxiety, even getting on Xanax not knowing, I am fine, it's just this stupid birth control pill! Worst of all, 2 weeks after stopping this pill, my hair started falling out. Not thinned out, I'm talking a quarter sized bald spot of hair missing! I'm so scared, especially because I am getting yellow patches on my chest, and the doc wants blood work to rule out liver desease and many others. I am going start Miretta, which I hear is an expensive Lo dose pill, but works wonderful. Do yourself a favor, don't take this pill! Read More Read Less

I took this pill for 4 months and had the worst experience. As soon as I started taking this pill it sent me into an extreme depression. Along with that my periods were very irregular and sometimes had severe cramps that would last all week long. Other side effects I had, nausea, headaches, extreme fatigue, crazy mood swings (I think I cried about dropping a piece of ice once), sex drive= nonexistent, and the only weight gain I had were in my boobs. Regardless this pill may work for some people but after 4 months of straight crazy I'm happy to be off of them. I'm now on Sronyx and so far so good, after my experience any pill is better. I've been on Reclipsen for a year and a half and I haven't had any major problems with it. The only thing that I noticed is that now I have cramps versus when I wasn't on birth control. No noticeable side effects and I'm happy with it.

Bad, bad, bad - 6 months of hell on this pill severe mood swings hair loss insomnia frequent cramps in legs and arms anxiety Also, often it didn't seem to work (despite taking correctly) as I'd get all the symptoms of ovulation exactly 15 days into each cycle If you think you are "feeling fine" with this pill, do yourself a favor and try something else for a while. You'll see the difference for yourself

I haven't had any problems with this medication. The only thing that I have noticed is that I have cramps now when I virtually never had them before I was on the pil. Other than that, I don't feel out of the ordinary on it and I am shocked by some of the reviews. I guess the pill works differently for everybody.

I was on Reclipsen for six months. At first it was ok, but as the months went on I started feeling more weak and tired. I also felt more anxious on the pill, and I started to get strange chest pains that would come and go. I went to the doctor and I switched to the mini-pill. I am have only been on it for a few weeks, but almost immedidately but chest felt better and my anxiety went away.

Cons- - Desogestryl is an extremely dangerous ingredient in this drug. Do not take Reclipsen if you smoke! Do not take any birth control pill containing desogestryl if you smoke tobacco. - Reclipsen is also a dangerous BC pill for women who don't lead active lives with frequent daily exercise - if you sit for long hours behind a desk - blood clot alert! - I quit reclipsen after just six months after experiencing some unusual chest pains and frequent cramping and pain in the legs - scary! - hair loss more than usual - Reclipsen is a very low dose bc pill - often it didn't work for me and I would have all the symptoms of ovulation which I've never experienced with any other bc pill before (I've been taking bc for over 15 years) Pros - - since the bc did not always work despite being taken at the same time daily and never missing a pill, those wonderful natural emotions and feelings a woman gets around ovulation returned - scary if you're worried about getting pregnant, but invigorating if you can relax and enjoy the surge of sexual energy and euphoria a woman feels when she's naturally "in heat" - i defintely felt a lot less moody with this bc pill than when I was on Avianne I believe more testing needs to be done on Reclipsen, especially in women over 30. My side effects were alarming, to say the leastRead More Read Less

This is the first and only birth control I've been on and I'm more happy with it than disappointed. I started it because of crazy period cramps and after taking reclipsen my period lasts half as long as it did with zero cramping. I haven't had any negative side effects other than very easily getting sun poisoning, weird I know. I don't burn but I do get slighty sick if I'm in the sun too long. But it's manageable. Overall I'm happy with it.

I'm 15. I started this because I had abnormally long periods (one went on for 3 months straight) so my doctor prescribed it to me to help regulate things. When I started, it helped clear up the small amount of acne I had. On the down side, it took a week for my period to stop. Also, once I got to the last week of dud pills, my period was even heavier than normal and I ha TERRIBLE cramps. They were so bad that my mom and I decided to start the second pack early. When I started the second pack, it took another week for my period to stop, during which I had more cramps and felt slightly nauseous. Now that it's stopped and I've been on the active pills for 2 weeks, I've noticed that I gained 5 pounds. I'm almost positive this is connected to the pill, and it's definitely not helping my self esteem. I hope anyone reading this has a better experience than I did, because I'm going to ask my mom to switch my prescription ASAP!Read More Read Less

I have struggled to find a birth control pill to help me with hirsutism (excess body hair), acne, and depression. Birth control pills such as Necon .5/35, Ortho Cyclen, Yasmine, and Cyclessa all gave me terrible side effects. I've only been on Reclipsen for a little over a month now, but it has already changed my life and my confidence drastically. My face is completely clear of acne, my body hair is not excessive anymore, and I am not depressed at all. This pill has been nothing but a dream come true for me.Read More Read Less

I've felt like walking death on this pill - exhausted, nauseated, moody, even feverish. A few months ago I had mono, and honestly thought I had it again until I read some of these reviews and recognized my symptoms. I've also starting having acne, which I've never had trouble with before. Stay away from this! Stay far away!

Reclipsen was the first birth control pill I've tried. I noticed my emotions were becoming very out of control, which I've never experienced before in my life! I also had stomach pains and some nausea. My sex drive completely plummeted to zero. On the bright side, I didn't get pregnant on it and it made my periods much shorter and less severe. After being on it for 3 months, I stopped and I felt back to my old self...it was not a good experience, but every person reacts differently to different birth control pills. I am now on Microgestin (Loestrin) and it's been great for me! Slight dip in sex drive and some nausea. Aside from that, A+. If you have had a similar experience to mine on Reclipsen, you may want to try it. Read More Read Less

I have been taking Reclipsen for 6 months, and I have experienced chest pain, and shortness of breath. My cramps are a lot worse now than when I was on Loestrin 24 for about 2 years. However, with Loestrin I gained 20lbs. I liked Loestrin more, but it cost more too.

I have been on Reclipsen (28) for almost three years. I have not had a problem with this pill, I've never been pregnant, and it has definitely helped my acne - although it hasn't been a miracle for my face, I still struggle with cystic hormonal acne that breaks out the week before my period. I have had zero side effects: no weight gain, no increase in acne, no hair loss, etc. This is the first hormonal birth control that didn't cause me to have adverse side effects.
