After reading so many bad reviews on Reclipsen I was really freaked out! I'm 19 and this is the first kind of birth control I've ever been on and IT IS A DREAM! I went from having moderate acne, to no new breakouts. My periods last around 3 days and everything is good! I'm in the middle of my second month and it's great! I had one or two headaches since I started, but that could be caused by other...

I've been on this birth control for almost 4 years now. I have always noticed an increase in anxiety, depression, and a decrease in sex drive when taking this medication. My weight has been fairly stable while taking reclipsen. I've been on Yaz, alesse, and ortho tricyclin before taking reclipsen. I am seriously considering going back to Alesse. Reclipsen is only $10 per month with my insura...

This is the only BC I've taken and it seems to work fine for me. I've been using it for almost four years and haven't had any major problems. I have mood swings sometimes but they're not too terrible. It's great from having my period for 7 days to having it for 2-3 days.

I was put on Reclipsen by my fertility doctor for one month to clear some cysts on my ovaries before continuing on with IUI. Started on my third day of period. After my period ended, I started spotting after a couple of days later from lite spotting heaving clotting and back and forth. I called my doctor's office and told them what was going on. I was told that was normal and all the bleeding was clearing all the cysts around my ovaries. I do have to say, I have had no other side effects other than what it was suppose to do...getting rid of the cysts and all the bleeding being a mood killer, but if it does the job to get the IUI in motion, It's a small price to pay.Read More Read Less

I have never had any side effects from this BC. My periods are usually 3 days long and very light.

This is the worst experiance with birth control that I have ever had! It turned me into a complete lunatic. I expect a certain level of mood swings but this was out of control. I couldn't focus, I got angry at everyone and then broke down into tears. I woke up every night for the first couple weeks sweating and jittery. Save you (and your partner) the misery and try something else. The emotional problems are not worth the birth control in this situation.

My prescriber changed my prescription from apri to reclipsen. in 6 months I gained an appetite that I have never experienced. I was hungry all the time and never felt full. I gained about 10-15lbs in that time period and had absolutely no libido. I did have shorter periods but it wasn't worth the cons.

Just switched from Desogen and so far no problems at all. My question for some users is this... how can this "lowest androgen" pill be causing hair loss? Anderogens cause hair loss - and this is in the "lowest androgen" category.... so maybe its something else you're taking in addition to this, or maybe it just sped up the sloughing off phase and will even out... low androgen - low hair loss... low androgen drugs do lower sex drive.... so..THIS DRUG can cause sex drive loss but not hair loss.... bottom line... some people blame the STRANGEST side effects on bcp.... sometimes, its something else in your life!Read More Read Less

I've been on this pill for 6months..and i have experience horrible headaches..extreme hairloss..i was a emotional train wreak!!!.. started havin pain in my arms..legs..and calves.. I was on Ortho-Cept..and i loved it sooo much..both pill really help with acne problems..both cleared up on skin..but it was the hairloss from reclipsen and the side effect that weren't worth experiencing. I'm currently on Enpresse..which work extremely well..only if it worked wonders for my acne..that all came back..and worst..on after i finish this pack..I'm looking foward to getting back on to Ortho-Cept.Read More Read Less

I have been taking this birth control for over two years and i love it! i don't want to discourage anyone from trying this pill cause you must remember that everyones body is different! first time birth control users tend to have emotional freak outs and nausea along with other symptoms cause birth controls tricks your body into thinking that its already pregnant! if your side effects aren't bad try it for a couple months, they should go away.

In the last 5 months I've watched my daughter go thru He-l. She went from (honor-roll/4 semesters) to a drop-out. The mood swings were "unbelievable" crying over a cold french fry etc. Her boyfriend went from I need to see you all the time to maybe we need our space, after he and his mom told her she was crazy and needed to see a doctor. Thank God, I noticed awhile back thinking her hormones were whacky and made an appointment with a "new GYN". The new GYN immediatly stopped it. She also informed us she doesn't give any of her patients reclipson because it "makes you go nuts." I don't know how long it takes to get out of the system, but at times I feel she's too close to falling off the edge. This medicine scares the hell out of me, it scared the hell out of my daughter. I would fight to keep it off the market. Please avoid it so you don't go into hell on earth before you know what hit you! Read More Read Less

I am back with Desogen, well its really the generic form (reclipsen). I took Desogen for 5 years and I loved it, my period was 3 days, no cramps, no headaches, no tiredness, no mood swings, perfect skin. I hope this time works just like last time. Yaz was a night mare, and ortho tri cyclen lo wasn't as bad, but nothing like Desogen.

I have been on this since my pharmacy switched me from Desogen. I'm curious though if anyone has experienced arm pain from this medication? I was assuming the pain might have been caused by another medication, but now that I'm thinking about it, I'm wondering if it caused my Reclipsen. Any insights would be great!

Started pill on day one of cycle, was on my period for 7 full days and have been spotting every day since. Although I am sure that will straighten out with more time. The only complaint I have is that my breast are very tender and very full(hubby isn't complaining about the fullness though)! I have also put on about 5-10lbs but I could afford to put on the weight so I am okay with that. To be honest I am about 85% satisfied.

I would discourage anyone from using this birth control pill. Six weeks into using this drug I started experiencing visible hair loss. I have not taken it for 3 weeks now and my hair is still falling out! If I would have read that hair loss was a side effect b4 taking it, I would have asked my doctor to prescribe me another pill.

It's been almost a month since I've taken this contraceptive, and I absolutely cannot stand it. I switched to this from Yaz, and I am planning on switching back ASAP. I have felt so unhappy since I've started, and have had horrible and uncontrollable mood swings several times a day, it's unbearable. I've also had a headache every day since I've started the pill. It's gotten so bad that I've had to switch to taking the pill at night so I wouldn't have to be awake to experience the mood swings and headaches.Read More Read Less

Reclipsen is a type of birth control pills and does the job. However, I've had three major issue while on Reclipsen. 1) Like some of other reviews, I lost a lot of hair the first 3 weeks. I counted 60+ strands of hair in my shower every day. I would also notice hair falling out through out the day. It was very concerning, but it suddenly stopped by the end of the third week. I now only find about 10 strands in my daily shower. 2) My sex drive went straight down and never came back. 3) I gained 7 lbs in the first 4 weeks, and the weight stayed there. I feel hungry more often, and my appetite is defintely stronger. Some of the weight gain may be water retention, but not all. On a minor note, I also felt more irratable and emotional, but it was not severe. Overall, I would not recommend Reclipsen. I am generally sensitive to BCP. When I was on Loestrin 24 Fe, I did not have any of the side effects and will go back to Loestrin. Read More Read Less

I've been on the Depo Provera shot for 10 years and therefore hadn't had a period since age 17, I had horrible cysts. Well now 27, I wanted more control over ovulation since the time is drawing near. This is coming from someone who throughout their adult life has never had a period or a cramp, this medicine has been FANTASTIC so far. I'm into my 4 month, no cramps, light short periods like clockwork. Maybe a little emotional (crying) but nothing to cry more over. Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon period, but I've been VERY happy with it. Its letting me break back into the routine slow and easy.Read More Read Less
