Toy Jewelry Recall
Several children's jewelry items made in China were also recalled today due
to lead. Those recalls included:
- About 23,500 TOBY & ME jewelry sets from TOBY N.Y.C. of New York. The
recall includes various jewelry sets sold in a pink gift box with "TOBY
& ME" printed on the front and "TOBY & ME tags attached to the
packaging. The products were sold at T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, A.J. Wright, Cracker
Barrel, and Shopko stores nationwide from August 2006 through August 2007 for

On June 13, toy importer RC2 Corp of Oak Brook, Ill., (which issued today's
Thomas & Friends recall) recalled 1.5 million other Thomas & Friends
railway toys because of lead paint. And on Aug. 22, about 14,000 TOBY
& ME jewelry sets were recalled.
Swing Set Recall
Yesterday, about 670 swing sets made in the U.S. by BCI Burke Company of
Fond du Lac, Wis., were recalled because of a fall hazard. The firm has
received four reports of the swing set beam breaking and one report of a child
bruised from falling from the swing.
