This is the number 3 Oreo car.
It's been a long road for Nascar fan Jason Kluska. He's worked hard to overcome a severe speech and language disorder.
This is the 88 National Guard one.
His mom noticed the problem when he was a kid and his teachers confirmed that his speaking and listening skills were not up to par for his age.
He was not talking to any of the children. He was not talking to any of the teachers and they were very concerned.
So she took him to a speech-language pathologist for an evaluation.
That's a big plus for the child because the earlier you can start services, the better it is for the child and the more progress you can make.
A pathologist can assess a child's strengths and needs, and how they change through the years.
You achieve certain goals, but then you start seeing that as the child has been improving, the language expectations for that child have also increased. So you have more things to start addressing.
Jason's been working to improve his communication skills for the last 12 years.
Over the years, he's been able to tell you exactly what he wants, exactly what he thinks.
Therapy helped build the 17-year-old's confidence. Now he's gearing up for the future.
Going to North Carolina and get a job at Hendricks Motorsports and work on some race cars.
Today his dreams have no limits. For WebMD, I'm Sandee LaMotte.
